Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) gave exemption for National Identity (NID) renewal

According to the National Identity Registration Act, there is a provision to renew NID by paying a certain amount at the end of the term. Many NIDs have already expired.

As a result, they were being deprived of the services of various organizations. Therefore, the obligation to renew 'for the time being' has been removed.


The Election Commission of Bangladesh has also instructed the service providers not to refrain from providing services to anyone due to expiration.
