Freelancers in the long run are getting 'Virtual ID Cards' from Wednesday (November 25, 2020). The distribution of 'Virtual ID Cards' for freelancers is going to start that evening.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the program by launching a virtual ID card portal.
Prime Minister's ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed Joy and Private Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman will also be present at the inaugural function.
On Monday, State Minister for ICT Junaid Ahmed Palak chaired a preparatory meeting for the opening ceremony of the Virtual ID Card Portal for Freelancers. The meeting also decided to distribute the virtual card among the top freelancers on the same day. Freelancers can get their own virtual card from the portal through registration.
According to information from various sources, there are six and a half lakh freelancers in the country.
