Course Title: Muslim Law
Course Code: LAW 103 (New Course Code: LAW 503)
Concept of Law in Islamic Jurisprudence, Meaning of the Sharia, Sources of Muslim Law, Different Schools of Muslim Law and Reasons for their Development, Introduction and Application of Muslim Law under British Rule in India, Statutory Reforms, Laws relating to Marriage, Dower, Divorce, Guardianship, Maintenance, Legitimacy and Paternity, Wakf, Pre-emption, gift, Will and Marz-ul-Maut, Administration of Estate of Deceased Muslim, and Inheritance under Hanafi and Shia School.
N.B: There will be ten questions out of which five questions are to be answered inclusive of a compulsory question on inheritance (5 x 20 = 100).
