Facebook will allow five profiles from one account

Facebook (www.facebook.com) will allow you to run five profiles from one account. With the new feature, the world's largest social networking platform is moving away from the obligation to use the user's real name on the profile.

Facebook's parent company Meta Inc. announced the new feature in a statement on Thursday, Reuters reported.

Facebook has required users to use their real names since birth, although it has never been fully implemented.

Meta hopes that by now allowing you to run multiple profiles, it will "help you tailor your experience" based on people's interests and relationships. According to Reuters, Meta said to post separate content on Facebook for family members and friends on separate profiles.

However, Meta maintains the obligation to have only one account on Facebook. In this case the user's original profile will have his real name.

If more profiles are created in addition to the main profile, the user will be able to run all the profiles by logging into that one account. In the new feature, except for the main profile, the rest will have the opportunity to partially hide their identity.

According to Reuters, Meta is launching the new feature to keep up with rivals like TikTok and Twitter. Meta's own photo and video sharing app Instagram also has a similar service.

However, Meta said the policy of not impersonating another person or using someone else's identity remains unchanged; Existing policies will apply to all profiles.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed to Reuters that the new feature is being tested in several country markets. However, he did not name those countries.
